The Beginning
Zanesville Christian School, a ministry of Maranatha Bible Church located in Zanesville, Ohio, was established in 1975 by the board of Elders of Maranatha and the administrator of ZCS.
These men were deeply concerned about assisting parents in fulfilling their God-given responsibility to educate their children. Not only were they concerned about a means through which parents could meet this need, but they were also deeply concerned about the secular humanism being taught to our young people by the public school.
Thus, in order to meet the tremendous need, Zanesville Christian School was begun in the fall of 1975, with fifty-five students enrolled in grades K-6. The Board then added one grade per year, with the exception of the 1978-79 school year in which two grades were added, until grade twelve was added in the 1980-81 school year.
